Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN

About the role

The Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) joins the hemodialysis health‑care team to deliver high‑quality chronic dialysis care. Working within FMCNA’s standards, the RN ensures safe treatment delivery and patient education in an outpatient setting.

Key responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care Technicians and other staff in providing safe hemodialysis therapy.
• Delegate tasks to LVN/LPNs, Patient Care Technicians, and Dialysis Assistants.
• Assess daily patient needs, assign care tasks, and monitor staff technique compliance.
• Provide patient and family education on ESRD, vascular access, diet, fluid, medication, and dialysis modalities.
• Implement treatment prescriptions, including Sodium modeling and Ultrafiltration modeling.
• Monitor patient response, adjust therapy as needed, and communicate concerns to the Team Leader or physician.
• Conduct initial, annual, and ongoing nursing assessments and document care according to FMC policies.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in outpatient hemodialysis or renal care.
• Ability to supervise and train nursing and support staff.
• Strong communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
