About the role
We are seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in Emergency Room care to join our team in Aibonito, Puerto Rico on a 12‑month contract with possible extension. The role involves rapid assessment, treatment, and coordination of emergency patients across adult and pediatric populations.
Key responsibilities
- Perform initial assessment and triage, including vital signs and prioritizing medical attention.
- Administer intravenous, intramuscular, oral, and other medications per medical orders.
- Monitor vital signs, neurological status, and patient response to treatment.
- Manage wounds, hemorrhages, fractures, burns, and other emergencies.
- Prepare procedures, assist physicians, and coordinate patient transfers when necessary.
- Document all evaluations, interventions, treatments, patient responses, and critical events promptly and accurately.
- Follow isolation protocols, infection control procedures, and safety measures.
- Verify proper functioning of emergency medical equipment and collaborate with supply inventory management.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families and perform shift handoffs.
- Collaborate with specialist physicians and manage both adult and pediatric patients.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience working in an Emergency Room setting.
- Active Registered Nurse license in Puerto Rico.
- Active professional nursing association membership.
- Valid Health Certificate and Law 300 Certificate.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- Current vaccination record and Criminal Background Check Certificate.
- Willingness to work rotating schedules, including weekends, holidays, and night shifts.
