Network Solutions Architect - Lawful Intercept & Compliance (Lisbon/Dublin)

About the role

1GLOBAL, a global mobile communications provider, is looking for a Network Solutions Architect for Lawful Intercept and Compliance, based in Lisbon or Dublin with a hybrid workplace. The role plans, provisions, tests and manages software that meets regulatory requirements for lawful interception requests, working with engineers and the Legal, Regulatory, Security and Technology teams to build country-specific solutions and act as a subject matter expert.

Key responsibilities

• Engage internal and external stakeholders to define technical and process requirements, risks and impacts per country
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and report regularly to senior management
• Represent the company with national authorities, turning legal requirements into scalable solutions
• Design Lawful Interception integrations for enforcement agencies across MVNOs and countries
• Create processes with Legal, Security and Regulatory teams for secure and compliant interception
• Act as technical point of contact for engineering and integration issues and drive the software lifecycle, including testing with law enforcement agencies
• Define, document and present solutions, including HLDs and LLDs, and analyse RFIs, proposals and quotations
• Monitor technology trends, define technology roadmaps and document the technology portfolio
• Control quality of documentation and implementation, including software upgrades and end-to-end testing in a compliance environment
• Ensure network compliance with industry standards and regulations, and support capacity, performance analysis and reporting

Required profile

• Degree in Telecom Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Mandatory English; other languages are a plus
• Experience in communications with telecom regulators and enforcement agencies
• Proactive, detail-oriented, able to work in multi-cultural, geographically distributed teams
• Nice to have: business-oriented approach, VPN setup, certificate generation and revocation, legal and regulatory compliance processes, security certifications, and 8+ years in telecoms designing mobile core network services

• Mobile network architectures, MVNO and roaming environments
• Lawful interception frameworks (ETSI, CALEA) and gateways, mediation and delivery functions
• Service interception in CS and PS voice, SMS/MMS and data, and 5G Core
• LTE, 5G, IMS, IP technologies and protocols
• Networking principles and protocols, including security
• Writing HLDs and LLDs and presenting documents
