Network Operation Centre (NOC) Engineer - Telecommunications

About the role

1GLOBAL, a global mobile communications provider operating in 43 countries, is looking for a NOC Engineer (Front Office Engineer) for its Lisbon office. The role suits someone who works autonomously, communicates well and thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a proven track record in a similar role at product-led growth companies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first/second tier support for failures on platforms and services, following established procedures to fix issues and limit impact on end customers.
• Handle internal and external support requests through the agreed processes and interfaces.
• Escalate complex incidents to third-level support teams and partners with proper troubleshooting.
• Maintain a repository of documentation, configurations and procedures for the systems, platforms and services.
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams such as Customer Services and Service Delivery Managers, and with internal third-level teams on a daily basis.
• Take part in technical crisis management, incident room activation and closure.

Required profile

• Degree in Telecom Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in CORE/RAN network troubleshooting.
• Ability to manage incidents involving complex networks, services and systems.
• Fluent English and clear, concise communication.
• Availability to work in a 24/7 shift rotation.
• Able to work independently, with strong analytical skills and a customer-focused mindset.
• Experience in a 24/7 Network Operations Centre is a plus.

Required skills

• CORE/RAN network troubleshooting with protocols such as SS7, MAP, SIP, CAP, ISUP and DIAMETER.
• Knowledge of the IoT ecosystem is a plus.
