Monetization Specialist (Mobile App)

About the role

Air Apps, a family-founded company building an AI-powered Personal & Entrepreneurial Resource Planner, is looking for a Monetization Specialist. This is a fully onsite position in Lisbon, working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment, with relocation support offered. The role owns subscription and ad monetization strategies across the mobile app portfolio, balancing revenue growth with a good user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze industry trends and competitor strategies to find monetization opportunities.
• Design and implement strategies to maximize subscription and ad revenue.
• Collaborate with design and development teams to build monetization features.
• Create user segmentation and experiment hypotheses, and model financial outcomes.
• Analyze pricing and set up subscriptions and pricing tiers on App Store Connect.
• Test paywall placements, layouts and calls-to-action to improve conversion.
• Develop win-back strategies for lapsed users and reduce churn.
• Identify upsell opportunities and improve free trial starts and onboarding.
• Document strategies and tests, stay compliant with Apple's policies and international regulations, and ensure monetization does not harm the user experience.

Required profile

• About 4+ years of experience in mobile app monetization, focused on subscriptions and/or ad revenue.
• Solid understanding of in-app purchases, paywall design, pricing models and subscription lifecycle.
• Experience with ad monetization platforms (e.g. AdMob, IronSource, AppLovin) and A/B testing tools.
• Strong analytical skills, including cohort analysis, revenue modeling and performance reporting.
• Familiarity with App Store Connect and Apple's monetization policies.
• Collaborative, able to work with product, design and engineering teams.
