Mid-Level Architectural Visualisation Artist
The Boundary · Porto
Job description
About the role
The Boundary, a studio of artists, directors and technical pioneers founded by award-winning architects, is looking for a mid-level architectural visualisation artist in Porto. The studio creates stills, films and VR experiences that turn ideas into places people can believe in, and wants someone who can take a brief, drawings and references and turn them into a strong visual response.
Key responsibilities
- Create high-quality architectural visualisation across stills, animation and VR, turning creative direction and technical information into clear, compelling images.
- Independently manage assigned scenes, sequences or project components, planning time, tracking milestones and taking work through review to final delivery.
- Identify and resolve technical and creative issues, self-check work and escalate early when support is needed.
- Work closely with senior leads, project managers, artists, clients and external partners, keeping progress and handovers clear.
- Support junior artists and interns, share techniques and pipeline knowledge, and give constructive feedback in critiques and peer reviews.
- Maintain clean files and scenes, follow best-practice workflows and help improve consistency across the production pipeline.
Required profile
- A portfolio showing judgement, composition, light, materials and atmosphere, and the ability to turn a brief into a visual story.
- Proven production experience delivering work for 3D environments and understanding the end-to-end CGI workflow.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, anticipate issues and handle complex tasks independently.
- Clear communication with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders, and willingness to guide junior artists.
Required skills
- Autodesk 3ds Max
- Corona Renderer
- Adobe Creative Cloud
What we offer
- Clear creative direction, production support and experienced senior artists and leads.
- Ownership of meaningful parts of ambitious projects and autonomy over your work.
- Space to deepen your craft and build creative and leadership skills.
- Specific, kind feedback and fast decisions.
- Access to a global creative community across the studio's locations.
