Mechanical Design Engineer – 3D CAD & Materials

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer / Materials Engineer to join our on‑site team in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. The role focuses on turning engineering concepts into detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing‑ready designs while ensuring cost‑effective, high‑quality solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Create accurate 3D models and assemblies from concepts, blueprints, and sketches.
• Translate engineering drawings into manufacturing‑ready designs.
• Optimize designs for functionality, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
• Prepare detailed 2D drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to resolve design challenges.
• Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical or electrical 3D design.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, drafting standards, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in aerospace or related manufacturing environments is a plus.
• US citizenship required due to contractual requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, Siemens NX, or AutoCAD.
• Ability to create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Solid understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
