About the role
The Mechanical Operator will perform a wide variety of mechanical, pneumatic and basic electrical maintenance activities on production equipment to ensure safe operations, meet production goals and uphold quality standards. The role also includes sourcing obsolete parts, documenting maintenance work, and supporting Process, QA and Facilities teams in problem‑solving and improvement projects.
Key responsibilities
- Read schematics and prints, diagnose faults and repair equipment or ancillary systems such as blow‑overs, bulb pullers and heaters.
- Perform changeovers, set‑ups and minor adjustments on vision systems and printing machines, including ink mixing and oil changes.
- Execute preventive maintenance, installations, validations, retrofits and de‑commissioning of equipment.
- Source and stock obsolete parts, track inventory via MP2 or similar systems.
- Document daily tasks in the maintenance log and communicate completion to supervisors.
- Participate in continuous‑improvement, safety initiatives, audits and investigations.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in a technical, electrical or mechanical field preferred.
- Minimum 1 + year of automation‑related maintenance experience; pharmaceutical or medical‑device experience is a plus.
- Ability to work night shifts (12‑hour rotating schedule) and overtime as needed.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
Required skills
- Mechanical maintenance and pneumatic system troubleshooting.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting and reading of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
- Vision system setup and adjustment.
- PLC programming/diagnostics (certifications preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
