Materials & Collection Development Consultant – Leather (Freelance)

About the role

We are seeking a Materials & Collection Development Consultant specialized in leather for footwear, bags and interiors. The consultant will work on a project basis to create innovative leather materials and support the preparation of international trade fairs such as Lineapelle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new leather articles, including finishes, textures and conceptual treatments.
• Curate and select materials that align with market trends and commercial objectives.
• Assist in building focused, impactful collections for presentation to international clients.
• Provide input on trade‑fair stand layout, product storytelling and client engagement strategies.
• Offer strategic guidance to improve conversion rates at B2B events.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in footwear, leather or broader material development.
• Strong commercial sense – ability to translate trends into sellable products.
• Proven track record of delivering collections presented to international buyers.
• Experience with trade fairs or B2B product presentations is a plus.
