Material Planner & Buyer

About the role

As a Material Planner & Buyer you will join Preh Portugal’s team in Trofa, supporting the flow of materials for innovative automotive technologies. You will work in a global environment, coordinating with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely deliveries, optimal stock levels and cost‑effective purchasing.

Key responsibilities

• Convert requisitions into purchase orders in SAP and manage scheduling agreements and standard POs.
• Create and send kanban call orders to suppliers.
• Process purchase order confirmations and monitor deliveries against deadlines, carrier schedules and shortage reports.
• Negotiate order changes with suppliers to meet production needs.
• Address supplier non‑compliance regarding delivery dates, quantities or quality.
• Maintain and update purchasing process documentation.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives in procurement and supply‑chain collaboration.

Required profile

• Academic background in Engineering, Management, Logistics or related field (preferred, not mandatory).
• 2–4 years of experience in procurement, material planning or supply‑chain roles, preferably in manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of purchasing processes and supply‑chain principles.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP (MM/PP) or similar ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
