Master Agreement Negotiator

About the role

Cross Border Talents is looking for an experienced Master Agreement Negotiator (2+ years) to join its growing company in Porto, Portugal. The role involves drafting, negotiating and completing Master Agreements within a team of negotiators, working closely with the Head Office team.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate ISDA, CSA, GMRA and GMSLA agreements and their amendments, and prepare draft contracts from templates after receiving instructions from Paris or London, then forward them to the counterparty.
• Keep the Master Agreement and Client Services databases up to date with the progress of each name.
• Work with Front Office, Risk, Client Services, Back Office, Collateral Management and Tax to keep terms within agreed parameters and report delays.
• Prepare execution copies, check compliance with netting requirements and instruct external counsel when needed.
• Take part in onboarding and the transition of processes and knowledge to a new near-shore team, coordinating with the Paris-based Client Services teams.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience negotiating a range of Master Agreements (ISDA, CSA, EMA, GMRA, GMSLA).
• Experience negotiating with many counterparties across different jurisdictions and familiarity with netting and collateral opinions.
• Legal background and knowledge of the banking regulatory environment.
• Fluency in English (mandatory); independent French is very appreciated.
