Managing Director – Portugal

About the role

Altavia Ibérica is seeking a Managing Director to lead its Portuguese market. This senior position combines full P&L ownership with business development and team leadership, driving commercial success for retail, FMCG and cosmetics clients.

Key responsibilities

• Own the P&L and overall results for Portugal, defining and executing growth strategies.
• Identify and win new business while expanding existing client relationships.
• Lead the complete business development cycle, from prospecting to closing deals.
• Monitor pipeline, margins and commercial performance to inform decisions.
• Oversee proposal development for pitches and tenders.
• Manage and develop a team of approximately 14 professionals, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Act as the primary link between the Portuguese market and Iberian top management.
• Ensure robust operational processes, quality control and supplier management across print, POS and packaging production.
• Leverage AI and emerging technologies to innovate products and optimise processes.
• Drive financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of professional experience with leadership roles and financial responsibility.
• Proven track record managing teams and P&L in service‑based environments.
• Early consulting experience followed by success in selling high‑value services.
• Experience in consumer‑driven industries such as retail, FMCG or cosmetics is highly valued.
• Strong analytical ability to assess profitability and make strategic decisions.
• Commercial and entrepreneurial mindset focused on results and value creation.
