Management Accountant – Global FinTech

About the role

The client is a leading global fintech company that provides innovative payment solutions such as Direct Debit, real‑time payments, and open banking. They are seeking a detail‑oriented Management Accountant to join their global Financial Control team and support month‑end close, financial reporting, and audit activities across multiple international entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journals, including accruals, pre‑payments, lease accounting, and payroll entries for several entities.
• Own key balance‑sheet accounts, perform monthly reconciliations and resolve variances promptly.
• Provide P&L variance analysis and commentary for major cost areas.
• Prepare VAT returns and support annual external audits with documentation and auditor queries.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Tax, Payroll, and Management Reporting teams to ensure efficient end‑to‑end financial processes.
• Assist the Finance Manager and Group Financial Controller with ad‑hoc finance projects and activities.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in a Financial or Management Accountant role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and month‑end close processes.
• Experience preparing accruals, pre‑payments, payroll journals, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Ability to work with multi‑currency reconciliations.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
