About the role

Fyld is a Portuguese consulting company focused on building reliable and secure technology solutions. They are looking for an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to manage and optimise Linux environments across client projects.

Key responsibilities

Administer, configure and maintain Linux systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu, Debian).
Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise system performance and reliability.
Manage web servers such as Apache and Nginx.
Implement security hardening, including SELinux, AppArmor and firewalls.
Handle backup, recovery and system maintenance procedures.
Automate configuration management using Ansible and support containerised environments (Docker).

Required profile

Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT or related field.
Minimum 4 years of professional experience as a Linux Systems Administrator.
Fluency in Portuguese and English.

Required skills

Linux command line and Bash scripting.
Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH).
Web server administration (Apache, Nginx).
Storage, filesystems, permissions and access management.
Security tools (SELinux, AppArmor, firewalls).
Automation with Ansible.
Experience with Docker or other container platforms.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization (VMware, KVM, Hyper‑V).
Scripting in Python (optional).
