Linux System Administrator

About the role

Inetum is looking for a Linux System Administrator to ensure the availability, performance, and security of Linux server environments for multiple clients. You will join a shared services team of five administrators, providing Level 2/3 support, automation, and on‑call duties across on‑premise and cloud infrastructures.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, RHEL) and perform regular patching, upgrades, and hardening.
• Administer shared services such as DNS, NTP, SMTP relays, web and file servers.
• Maintain and optimise virtualization and container platforms (VMware, KVM, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Configure and manage monitoring and alerting tools (Zabbix, Prometheus, Nagios, Grafana) and respond to incidents within SLA.
• Participate in a rotating 24/7 on‑call schedule, handling alerts, performing first‑line analysis, escalation and communication during major incidents.
• Apply security best practices, manage firewalls, VPN, SSH access, and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
• Test disaster recovery scenarios, define RPO/RTO targets and support backup and recovery processes.
• Automate repetitive tasks using Bash, Python and configuration‑management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack).

Required profile

• Proven experience in Linux system administration in a multi‑tenant environment.
• Willingness to work in a rotating on‑call schedule and handle incidents under pressure.
• Strong analytical mindset and clear communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
