Linux and AIX Systems Administrator

About the role

You will join an experienced Infrastructure team responsible for supporting and evolving enterprise‑grade Unix environments. The focus is on administering, maintaining and continuously improving IBM AIX systems that host mission‑critical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day administration of IBM AIX environments.
• Execute maintenance, updates and patching under established procedures.
• Monitor system health, availability and performance.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure incidents and service requests.
• Participate in troubleshooting of medium‑complexity technical issues.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures and system configurations.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Network, Security and Application teams.
• Support automation initiatives using scripting and configuration‑management tools.
• Assist in implementing operational improvements and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
• Professional experience in Unix/Linux systems administration with exposure to IBM AIX.
• Solid knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems, especially IBM AIX.
• Familiarity with command‑line environments and administration commands.
• Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnetting).
• Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary technical teams.

Required skills

• Korn Shell (ksh), Bash and general shell scripting.
• Ansible for infrastructure automation and configuration management.
• Red Hat Identity Management (IDM) and Red Hat Satellite (nice to have).
• Wazuh and centralized log‑management solutions (nice to have).
• Monitoring and observability platforms (nice to have).
