About the role
We are looking for a Legal & Regulatory Affairs Specialist to ensure full compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, supporting risk mitigation and governance as iCliGo expands into new international markets. The role will develop policies, conduct due diligence, and act as the main liaison with authorities.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement and continuously improve compliance frameworks, policies and procedures across all operating jurisdictions.
- Lead regulatory mapping and legal due diligence for market entry, covering licensing, consumer protection, tourism regulations, data protection and financial compliance.
- Identify, assess and mitigate corporate risks in operational, legal, financial and reputational areas.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting travel, tourism and digital platforms and adapt internal processes accordingly.
- Conduct internal audits, compliance reviews and risk assessments, reporting findings and mitigation plans to senior management.
- Coordinate due‑diligence and compliance checks on partners, suppliers and technology service providers.
- Serve as primary contact with regulatory authorities, external auditors and supervisory bodies.
- Prepare and submit mandatory regulatory declarations and reports to authorities such as Banco de Portugal and Turismo de Portugal.
- Provide legal advice on international expansion, licensing models, commercial structures and partnership agreements.
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, supplier and partnership agreements.
Required profile
- University degree in Law, Business Law or a related field.
- Proven experience in regulatory compliance, legal due diligence or risk management, preferably within travel, tourism or digital platform sectors.
- Strong analytical abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with Legal, Finance, HR, Technology and Operations teams.
