Legal Project Manager – Remote

About the role

Sterlington PLLC, a remote‑first full‑service law firm, is looking for a Legal Project Manager to serve as the central hub of its Legal Operations function. The role will coordinate the entire matter lifecycle, onboard new partners and their teams, and manage the data backbone that drives firm‑wide reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end matter lifecycle: opening, staffing, milestone tracking, status reporting, and closing, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
• Manage partner onboarding workflows, including systems access, conflict checks, file setup, and billing configuration.
• Act as the primary liaison across Finance, Business Development, and IT, routing requests, translating needs, and keeping initiatives moving without performing specialist tasks.
• Design, implement, and monitor AI‑assisted workflows that support the matter lifecycle, maintaining the balance between AI output and lawyer review.
• Maintain clean matter and capacity data, produce regular reports, and highlight patterns such as pressure points, referral opportunities, and capacity constraints.

Required profile

• Highly organized with a strong ownership mindset.
• Comfortable working across functions without formal authority.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Finance, Business Development, and IT teams.
• Interest in AI‑augmented legal practice and data‑driven decision making.
• Detail‑oriented and proactive in driving processes to completion.
