Legal Counsel (Energy & Infrastructure)

About the role

Join Sonnedix’s Legal team in Lisbon as a Legal Counsel and support the company’s clean‑energy growth across Portugal. Reporting to the Head of Legal, Iberia, you will work closely with cross‑functional teams to manage legal risk, ensure compliance, and drive commercial success.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on legal support for energy transactions, project financing, and commercial contracts such as EPC, O&M, PPAs, DSAs, and ISDA agreements.
• Manage local governance, corporate secretarial matters, employment and property‑related legal issues.
• Advise internal stakeholders on Portuguese law and regulatory matters; Spanish law knowledge is a plus.
• Collaborate with global teams to align local practices with Sonnedix’s global policies.
• Utilise AI and digital tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude) to improve efficiency and quality of legal output.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in energy, infrastructure, M&A or project finance, preferably from private practice or in‑house roles.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English; Spanish is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
