Lead Engineer – Vertical Start‑Up (North America)

About the role

The Lead Engineer for the Vertical Start‑Up (VSU) program in North America will drive the deployment and execution of the CPS Global VSU framework across multiple manufacturing sites. Acting as the regional subject‑matter expert, you will ensure projects achieve operational readiness, successful qualification, rapid ramp‑up, and sustained performance.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the North America focal point for implementing the CPS Global VSU framework.
• Guide project teams through VSU stage‑gates, readiness assessments, qualification activities, and operational handover.
• Coordinate people, process, system, documentation, and equipment readiness prior to startup.
• Lead commissioning, installation qualification (IQ), operational qualification (OQ), and performance qualification (PQ) activities.
• Monitor qualification progress, manage deviations, and drive corrective actions.
• Support rapid performance ramp‑up and stabilization after startup.
• Facilitate lessons‑learned sharing and promote consistent VSU methodology adoption across facilities.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading complex manufacturing startup projects (30‑40 MM USD annual scope).
• Strong cross‑functional leadership with ability to influence without direct authority.
• Deep understanding of VSU principles, CQV processes, and global governance standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
