Junior K9 Handler

About the role

The Junior K9 Handler will support cargo screening operations in compliance with TSA regulations. Working alongside a certified detection dog, you will conduct X‑ray inspections, physical searches, and explosive trace detection to identify potential threats.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in CCSP training to learn cargo search techniques and threat identification.
• Perform authorized duties using X‑ray equipment, physical searches, and explosive trace detection tools.
• Operate as a Junior Handler while commanding a trained working dog.
• Maintain accurate training records and ensure proper care, housing, and maintenance of the assigned canine.
• Comply with all job‑related certifications, security clearances, and vehicle operation requirements.
• Adapt to varied work conditions, including outdoor fieldwork in inclement weather and irregular schedules.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship (minimum three years) and ability to obtain KTN, SIDA badge, and STA within four to six weeks.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license (REAL ID compliant) and reliable, climate‑controlled transportation for the canine.
• Strong oral and written communication, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Physical capability to lift up to 100 lb and stand for long periods.
