Junior Buyer / Purchasing Assistant

About the role
As a Junior Buyer, you will contribute to efficient procurement operations while supporting sourcing and supplier management activities in an international environment. You will work closely with buyers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth purchasing processes and help drive cost optimisation initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Support operational and administrative procurement activities across the purchasing organisation.
- Manage RFQs, purchase orders, contracts, and related procurement documentation.
- Maintain and continuously improve purchasing systems and tools, including SAP.
- Create and maintain supplier master data and purchasing information records.
- Prepare supplier, spend, market, and cost analyses to support sourcing decisions and negotiations.
- Assist buyers during negotiations regarding pricing, delivery schedules, quantities, and commercial conditions.
- Support supplier and material analyses to identify standardisation, consolidation and cost‑saving opportunities.
- Coordinate ramp‑up and ramp‑down activities and contribute to bottleneck management.
- Collaborate proactively with suppliers and cross‑functional stakeholders worldwide.
- Prepare standard reports and support internal and external audit activities.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
- First experience through internships, working‑student positions or professional experience in procurement, purchasing or supply‑chain (preferred).
- Fluent English, written and spoken; German beneficial but not required.
- Structured, proactive and reliable working style with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
