Junior Buyer / Purchasing Assistant

About the role

As a Junior Buyer/Purchasing Assistant you will support the supply chain by ensuring material availability, strengthening supplier relationships, and contributing to purchasing excellence across international projects. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to mitigate risks and drive cost optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of global category and sourcing strategies for direct materials.
• Gather, analyse and interpret purchasing and market data to identify consolidation, standardisation and cost‑optimisation opportunities.
• Assist in material family planning and supplier‑strategy activities, including ramp‑up and ramp‑down projects.
• Monitor supply‑chain performance, flag potential material shortages and help secure supplier capacities.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to mitigate supply‑chain risks and enable alternative sourcing.
• Prepare reports, analyses and presentations to support purchasing decisions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of purchasing processes and IT tools such as SAP and PILUM.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply‑chain management or a related commercial function.
• Experience in an international environment is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
