IT Support Technician

About the role

SBM Offshore is looking for an IT Support Technician to provide prompt technical assistance to end‑users, ensuring smooth daily operations across the company. You will be the first point of contact for hardware, software and network issues, helping to maintain productivity and user satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical support via phone, email or on‑site, addressing hardware, software and network problems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve faults, identify root causes and document solutions.
• Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, printers and related peripherals.
• Deploy software applications, patches and driver updates as required.
• Create, modify and deactivate user accounts, passwords, email settings and security permissions.
• Maintain accurate records of tickets, inventory and support actions.
• Document troubleshooting procedures and produce user guides.
• Provide basic training on IT systems, applications and security best practices.
• Use remote‑access tools to support off‑site users efficiently.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical education preferred).
• Proficiency in English for clear communication.
• Prior experience in a technical support or customer‑service role.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, MCDST) are a plus.
