IT Data Protection Trainee

About the role

The IT Data Protection Trainee will join the Group Data Protection Risk Advisory team at BNP Paribas. Working under the supervision of the Group Data Protection Officer, the trainee will support transversal privacy and security projects across the Group.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in independent verification of IT, cyber‑security and technical controls, providing recommendations on privacy, data management and regulatory compliance.
• Support the monitoring and analysis of personal data breaches and other DPP incidents, collaborating with CDOs, CISO, DPOs and legal teams.
• Help industrialise team activities by leveraging existing systems, data and designing new tools where needed.
• Advise internal stakeholders on data protection requirements for transformation projects, especially those involving AI, machine learning or IoT.
• Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of the Group’s Data Protection and Privacy governance framework, policies and guidelines.
• Research and analyse global technical regulations, extracting lessons learned and best practices for the Group.

Required profile

• Technical background with strong interest in privacy, cybersecurity and data governance.
• Eager to learn from a worldwide team of privacy and security specialists.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, PDPA regulations.
• Familiarity with AI, machine learning and Internet of Things (IoT) concepts.
• Understanding of ITIL, COBIT, ISO 27001 and CISSP frameworks.
