In‑house Lawyer – IT, Compliance & GDPR

About the role

We are seeking an experienced In‑house Lawyer to join the Legal and Compliance Department of an international IT hub based in Lisbon. Reporting to the Legal and Compliance Manager, you will ensure the robustness of contracts with IT service providers, assess legal and regulatory risks, and support a wide range of corporate legal matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal, compliance and regulatory support for operations in Lisbon and Porto.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts with IT service providers and end‑customers.
• Negotiate day‑to‑day operational contracts.
• Identify, assess and propose mitigation for legal and regulatory risks.
• Establish and manage processes and workflows between the Porto office, service providers and headquarters.
• Develop and support GDPR compliance initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law.
• Minimum five years’ experience as a lawyer in an IT company or a law firm with an IT focus.
• At least five years drafting, reviewing and negotiating IT contracts.
• Experience with licensing, liability, intellectual property, export control, data protection and IT security.
• Familiarity with banking regulatory requirements (outsourcing, IT security, business continuity).
• Proven compliance experience.
• Advanced written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel to Porto.
