Hotel General Manager – Luxury 5‑Star Property

About the role

We are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead the launch and ongoing operation of a brand‑new luxury lifestyle hotel in Sintra. As the strategic head of the property, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience while driving commercial performance and nurturing relationships with owners, brand partners, and the team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all hotel departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Revenue, Reservations and Maintenance.
• Develop and execute commercial and operational strategies to meet brand standards, financial targets and guest expectations.
• Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing, Operations Manager and department heads to align on revenue growth and e‑commerce initiatives.
• Manage risk, create mitigation plans and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays, with minimal international travel.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years progressive leadership experience as General Manager of a five‑star lifestyle hotel.
• International experience with branded properties and fluency in English and Portuguese.
• Strong commercial focus with proven ability to drive revenue and profit.
• Excellent financial acumen – P&L analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
• Demonstrated success building high‑performance teams and managing change.
