Head of Operations – Corporate & Investment Banking

About the role

We are looking for a self‑motivated and proactive Head of Operations for Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) to lead the Operations function in Lisbon. The role is responsible for end‑to‑end operational excellence, efficiency, scalability, regulatory compliance and risk mitigation across Business Operational Support, Middle Office and Back Office.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the operational strategy for CIB and institutional clients, supporting sustainable growth.
• Lead digital transformation, automation, process redesign and platform modernisation.
• Leverage data, analytics and artificial intelligence to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
• Ensure daily operations meet quality, accuracy, SLA and KPI targets.
• Manage operational costs and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Oversee Back Office, Business Operational Support and Middle Office functions, ensuring integration and strong customer focus.
• Maintain governance, risk and control frameworks in line with global standards and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading operations within Corporate & Investment Banking or similar financial services.
• Strong track record of driving transformation and managing large, cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent understanding of regulatory requirements, risk management and compliance.
• Ability to align operational initiatives with global business strategy and client‑first mindset.
