Guest Services Agent

About the role

The Guest Services Agent delivers attentive, courteous, and efficient service to hotel guests from check‑in through checkout. Working at a Highgate‑managed property, you will help maximize room revenue and occupancy while ensuring a memorable stay for every guest.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and welcome all guests at the Front Desk in line with Highgate standards.
• Operate the PBX console, answer guest inquiries about hotel services, local transportation, dining, and entertainment.
• Log and deliver packages, mail, and messages to guests and meeting rooms.
• Handle check‑ins and check‑outs efficiently, following cash‑handling and credit policies.
• Maintain accurate front‑office logs, bucket checks, room‑rate verification reports, and housekeeping reports.
• Balance and prepare shift paperwork, including closing reports.
• Promote hotel promotions, guest programs, and safe‑deposit box services.
• Communicate via two‑way radio using proper etiquette and assist with emergency procedures as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in hospitality or related fields is a plus.
• Previous front‑desk or guest‑service experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating a PBX console.
• Experience with front‑desk computer systems and reservation software.
• Knowledge of cash‑handling and credit‑card procedures.
