General Counsel – Remote, US Bar, EMEA Overlap

About the role

We are looking for a proactive US‑bar‑qualified General Counsel to lead our in‑house legal function across three distinct workstreams: a top‑5 direct‑to‑consumer e‑commerce brand, a family office investing in hedge funds, and cross‑border legal structuring for multiple jurisdictions. The role reports directly to the CEO and is fully remote with required overlap with EMEA time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee legal matters for DTC e‑commerce regulatory compliance, including FTC guidelines and consumer protection.
• Lead hedge‑fund subscription, custody documentation, and negotiate limited‑partner terms.
• Design and implement cross‑border asset‑protection structures across international jurisdictions.
• Maintain relationships with outside counsel and coordinate legal services across all domains.
• Deliver monthly legal exposure audits and quarterly compliance sweeps to the CEO.

Required profile

• Active US Bar admission.
• Significant experience in at least two of the following: DTC regulatory compliance, hedge‑fund documentation, multi‑jurisdictional structuring.
• Ability to identify material legal risks independently and act with senior‑level judgment.
• Strong communication skills and comfort reporting directly to C‑level leadership.
