Frontend Shopify Developer

About the role

As a Frontend Shopify Developer at IMPACT Commerce Portugal, you will design and build high‑performing, visually engaging e‑commerce storefronts for large clients. You will translate UI/UX designs into clean, responsive code, working with Liquid, modern JavaScript, and Shopify’s headless APIs within a collaborative, distributed engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify and Shopify Plus themes, including theme app extensions.
• Convert complex UI/UX mockups into performant, cross‑browser HTML5, CSS3/Sass, and JavaScript code.
• Optimize storefronts for Core Web Vitals, SEO, accessibility, and mobile‑first performance.
• Integrate third‑party apps, custom apps, and APIs to extend store functionality.
• Participate in client meetings to clarify requirements, propose solutions, and present technical options.
• Collaborate with design, QA, and delivery teams to define, estimate, and document tasks.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional frontend development experience.
• At least 2 years building custom Shopify/Shopify Plus themes.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with focus on code quality and performance.
• Experience in agency or fast‑paced digital product environments.

Required skills

• Shopify Liquid template language and Online Store 2.0 architecture.
• HTML5, CSS3, Sass/SCSS, JavaScript (ES6+).
• REST and GraphQL API integration.
• Version control (Git, GitHub/GitLab) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build tools such as npm, yarn, Webpack or Vite.
• Familiarity with headless commerce concepts (Shopify Storefront API, Hydrogen, React) is a plus.
