First‑Level Cook (m/f)

About the role

Barceló Group is looking for a motivated First‑Level Cook to join the kitchen team at its Occidental hotel in Faro. You will be responsible for preparing dishes from the menu, maintaining high culinary standards and supporting the overall smooth operation of the kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes according to the menu and technical sheets.
• Ensure the kitchen runs efficiently and safely.
• Contribute creative ideas and stay updated with current culinary trends.
• Manage food costs, inventories and stock control.
• Handle purchasing and receipt of food items following established procedures.
• Support cleaning, preservation, regeneration and replenishment of food products.
• Apply HACCP standards and follow all relevant safety and quality procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a similar kitchen role (mandatory).
• Formal culinary training.
• Customer‑oriented with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
• Fluency in Portuguese and good knowledge of English.
• Flexible availability for shift work.
