Export Control Procurement Specialist

About the role

As an Export Control Procurement Specialist you will guarantee that Airbus Portugal’s procurement activities fully comply with national and international export control regulations. You will also act as a strategic driver for the digital transformation of the Hold & Release tool, coordinating testing and stakeholder engagement across borders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation, rollout and continuous evolution of the Hold & Release project within Procurement.
• Define test scenarios, coordinate and execute User Acceptance Testing for new export‑control systems and digital tools.
• Serve as the primary communication bridge, providing regular status updates and managing change for all affected stakeholders.
• Interpret and track changes in export control laws (US ITAR, EAR, European regimes) and ensure their application in procurement processes.
• Provide hands‑on advisory support to buyers, embedding export‑control methods into daily sourcing activities.
• Design and deliver training sessions and compliance surveys to promote a strong compliance culture.
• Support the definition and enforcement of end‑to‑end export‑control processes, driving continuous improvement.
• Maintain and update the classification list of products, equipment and parts subject to export restrictions and ensure timely documentation collection.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business, Law or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in Export Control compliance or Procurement, preferably within a supply‑chain context.
• Strong knowledge of Export Control regulations (Dual‑Use, Military, ITAR, EAR, EU).
• Experience in Project Management and Change Management.
• Autonomous, able to discuss and challenge stakeholders effectively.
