Events Director

About the role

The Events Director will lead the planning, execution and evaluation of large‑scale events across Arrow Global’s hospitality, sports and leisure portfolio in Portugal. This senior position requires strong leadership, organisational expertise and the ability to manage complex logistical and technical aspects while maintaining high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed event schedules and ensure all phases are completed on time.
• Select and book venues that meet logistical and safety requirements.
• Develop, monitor and control event budgets, identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote events and manage media, sponsor and stakeholder relationships.
• Lead and train multidisciplinary teams, including volunteers and temporary staff.
• Oversee venue setup, event execution and post‑event cleanup.
• Anticipate and resolve issues during events to ensure a positive participant experience.
• Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
• Identify, negotiate and manage contracts with sponsors, partners and service providers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Event Management, Sports or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience managing large‑scale events, preferably in the sports sector.
• Proven leadership experience with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent organisational, project‑management and communication skills.
• Strategic thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
