About the role

ALTEN Portugal is looking for a motivated Cybersecurity Engineer to join its growing team. You will work on securing Kubernetes‑based platforms and distributed micro‑service architectures, helping to shape the security strategy for modern cloud‑native environments.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the strategic security vision and roadmap for Kubernetes‑based platforms.
• Establish security policies, standards and best practices across all layers of the platform and applications.
• Lead risk assessments, threat modelling and compliance with frameworks such as CRA, NIS2, IEC 62443‑4‑2 and CIS Benchmarks.
• Implement hardening practices for multi‑cluster and hybrid infrastructures (on‑premises and cloud).
• Define secure coding standards, guide developers and promote a security‑first culture.
• Lead incident response activities and conduct post‑incident analysis.

Required profile

• Experience with Kubernetes security concepts (RBAC, Network Policies, Pod Security, Admission Controllers).
• Familiarity with cloud security, especially Microsoft Azure services.
• Understanding of micro‑service architectures and related technologies (Java Spring Boot, Node.js, Go).
• Good communication skills in English and ability to work in Agile teams.
