ESG Manager

About the role

Ferbgás, a developer of biomethane projects in Portugal, is seeking a practical and autonomous ESG and Sustainability Manager. The role will translate the company’s ESG commitments into concrete actions, overseeing implementation, data collection, and reporting across Ferbgás and its project companies.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the ESG action plan for Ferbgás and its project companies.
• Establish quarterly and annual ESG reporting and maintain an ESG database.
• Translate ESG commitments into tasks, assign owners, set deadlines and verify results.
• Develop and apply policies, procedures and control tools aligned with company activities.
• Integrate ESG requirements into project development, contracting, construction and operation, including site visits.
• Monitor feedstock sustainability, methane emissions, digestate management, waste, water, odours and biodiversity.
• Create and maintain systems for collecting, validating and consolidating ESG data.
• Prepare greenhouse‑gas inventories, quarterly and annual ESG reports, and the annual sustainability report.
• Apply ESG criteria when assessing, selecting and monitoring suppliers and contractors, and manage corrective actions.

Required profile

• Hands‑on professional able to draft policies and verify their implementation.
• Experience working closely with management, project teams, suppliers, contractors and investors.
• Strong organisational skills to keep action registers, evidence of compliance and documentation up to date.
• Ability to identify resource needs, escalate obstacles and drive corrective measures.
