HSE Manager – Renewable Energy (Lisbon)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead health, safety and environment initiatives for our renewable energy portfolio in Portugal. Based in Lisbon, you will report to the VP of HSE & Lean Iberia and work across development, construction, operations and battery storage projects.

Key responsibilities

• Implement Sonnedix’s HSE programmes in Portugal, ensuring compliance with local legislation and company standards.
• Provide HSE leadership, assurance and technical guidance throughout the asset lifecycle.
• Oversee contractor management, audits, inspections, incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with business leaders, project teams, regulators and external stakeholders to embed HSE into decision‑making.
• Maintain a visible field presence to promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HSE management within renewable energy projects and operations.
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese HSE legislation, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Degree in HSE, Engineering, Environmental Sciences or a related discipline.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
