English‑Speaking Accountant (France & Portugal)

About the role

We are seeking an English‑speaking accountant to lead accounting activities for our French entities while supporting operations in Portugal. The role combines full ownership of statutory reporting, tax compliance, month‑end close, and day‑to‑day AP/AR management in a fast‑paced, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Record and maintain all financial transactions, including AP, AR, and general‑ledger entries.
• Prepare, reconcile and present profit & loss, balance‑sheet and cash‑flow statements.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing processes in compliance with IFRS and GAAP.
• Drive internal and external audits and ensure statutory reporting accuracy.
• Process invoices, payments, employee expense reports and monitor collections.
• Prepare VAT, corporate and payroll tax filings and liaise with local advisors.
• Assist in annual budgeting, financial forecasting and variance analysis.
• Support accounting‑system improvements and automate reporting/reconciliation tasks.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years of end‑to‑end accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in CRO, pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors is a plus.
• Strong analytical mindset, detail‑oriented and able to work across borders.
