English Teacher – IB Diploma Programme (Years 12‑13)

About the role

The English Teacher at King’s College School Cascais will deliver high‑quality instruction within the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (Years 12‑13) and secondary stages, fostering academic excellence and a global mindset.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver dynamic English lessons (Language A/B) across secondary and IB DP levels using inquiry‑based methodologies.
• Supervise and assess IB Extended Essays and Internal Assessments in line with IBO criteria.
• Differentiate instruction to support native speakers and English‑as‑an‑Additional‑Language learners.
• Monitor academic progress, provide feedback and produce progress reports for families.
• Provide pastoral care, supporting students’ emotional well‑being and personal development.
• Collaborate with department colleagues and the IB Coordinator to align curricula and share best practices.
• Participate in school meetings, parent‑teacher evenings and lead co‑curricular activities.

Required profile

• Professional teaching qualification (Bachelor’s or Master’s in English/Education) with PGCE, QTS, BEd or equivalent legal status.
• Proven experience teaching the IB Diploma Programme and relevant IBO training certification.
• Native‑level English proficiency, both written and spoken.
• Strong classroom management, collaboration skills and adaptability to a multicultural environment.
