English Teacher – A-Level & IB

About the role

PaRK International School is looking for a passionate English Teacher to join its Alfragide campus. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality instruction to Sixth Form students in both Cambridge International A‑Levels and the IB Diploma Programme.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver challenging lessons for A‑Level English Literature/Language and IBDP English A (Language & Literature) or English B.
• Prepare students for external examinations, mastering mark schemes, essay techniques and oral assessments.
• Supervise IB Extended Essays and internal assessments, providing academic guidance and feedback.
• Integrate Theory of Knowledge and global perspectives into the curriculum to foster international‑mindedness.
• Use data‑driven insights to monitor progress and implement targeted interventions.
• Assist students with university applications, including references and personal‑statement support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Linguistics or a related field.
• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
• Proven experience teaching A‑Level and/or IBDP English with strong exam results.
• Deep understanding of IB inquiry‑based learning and the analytical demands of the British curriculum.
• Native or near‑native English fluency with excellent written communication skills.
