Director of Partnerships and Technology Alliances
DataCamp
Job description
About the role
DataCamp is building its partnerships function to scale its curriculum by bringing leading content providers, technology vendors and expert instructors onto the platform. This is a player-coach role reporting to the Content organization: you will own the partnership strategy end-to-end, personally close the defining deals, and then build a small team behind you as the function grows.
Key responsibilities
- Own the partnership strategy for curriculum: which content providers, vendors and experts to partner with, in what order and why.
- Source, negotiate and close partnerships: licensed and co-branded content, official vendor certifications and marquee instructor deals.
- Build and manage senior relationships across the AI, data and cloud ecosystem, from partner leadership to their content and product teams.
- Work with curriculum, product, legal and marketing to turn signed agreements into live content that learners complete.
- Define what a high-quality partner looks like, prioritizing depth and learner impact over volume of logos.
- Own the commercial and contractual side, including licensing terms, revenue share and instructor agreements.
- Hire, coach and grow a small partnerships team while keeping your own portfolio of relationships.
- Report partnership performance to leadership and decide which partnerships to double down on and which to retire.
Required profile
- 3-5+ years in partnerships, alliances or business development at a B2B SaaS or technology company, with a track record of deals you personally sourced and closed.
- Deep fluency in the AI, data and cloud landscape and knowledge of the key players and ecosystem shifts.
- Experience in education, EdTech or enterprise L&D, with an understanding of what makes learning content valuable to buyers and learners.
- Proven ability to build a function from near-scratch, switching from strategy to execution.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills, including licensing, revenue share and content rights.
- Excellent cross-functional judgment with content, product and legal teams.
Bonus
- An existing network across AI and data vendors, certification bodies or the creator and expert community.
- A deep understanding of the DataCamp course format.
- Experience as an educator or curriculum developer in technical education.
What we offer
- Competitive salary with additional legal benefits such as medical insurance including dental and vision.
- Flexible working hours and a remote-friendly culture.
- Yearly learning and development budget and annual IT equipment budget.
- International company retreats and a global, collaborative culture.
