Director of Insurance

About the role

The Director of Insurance will lead the creation and scaling of a regulated embedded insurance offering across a fast‑growing B2C/B2B travel technology platform operating in 26 countries. This senior leader will embed insurance into the core customer journey and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the global insurance strategy, integrating insurance into the travel and e‑commerce experience.
• Own the full insurance value chain – underwriting, pricing, distribution, claims, and customer support.
• Develop modular, compliant insurance products tailored to travel and mobility in partnership with product and technology teams.
• Serve as the regulated person in each market, overseeing governance, reporting, and licensing requirements.
• Lead relationships with carriers, MGAs, reinsurers and brokers to secure capacity and ensure delivery.
• Implement performance frameworks, use data to iterate products and improve outcomes.
• Collaborate with Operations, Legal, Support and Finance to deliver scalable execution.

Required profile

• Management consulting or strategic insurance experience in digital or high‑growth environments.
• Proven track record launching and scaling regulated insurance propositions across multiple geographies.
• Deep knowledge of travel, personal lines or P&C insurance with strong product and regulatory expertise.
• Experience managing underwriting relationships and negotiating insurance agreements.
• Ability to lead matrix teams in fast‑paced, international settings.
• Regulatory standing or ability to act as a licensed responsible person (e.g., FCA, AFM, MFSA).
