Dialysis Equipment Technician – Maintenance & Patient Support

About the role

The Dialysis Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing water treatment, dialysis and other medical equipment to ensure safe operation for patients and staff. The role also supports inventory management, housekeeping and provides direct patient assistance during treatment sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, testing, calibration and repair of water treatment and dialysis equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and FMCNA technical policies.
• Document all maintenance activities, conduct safety checks, and ensure housekeeping standards are met.
• Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external stakeholders, addressing equipment issues promptly.
• Assist with inventory control, supply restocking, SAP purchase order creation, and medical waste disposal.
• Support patient care by being visible during treatments, answering questions, and offering tours of equipment when requested.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; technician training or AA degree in electronics preferred.
• Minimum six months experience in a technical role within a healthcare or industrial setting.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to transport equipment between facilities.
• Successful completion of FMCNA technical training program and compliance with color‑blindness testing requirements.
