DevOps Engineer Backend

About the role

Air Apps, a Lisbon-founded company building an AI-powered personal and entrepreneurial resource planner, is looking for a DevOps Engineer Backend. You will design, automate and maintain the infrastructure behind the backend systems, working closely with developers to streamline deployments, improve scalability and keep services reliable, secure and cost-effective.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test and deployment.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, CloudFormation or Pulumi.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks and improve reliability.
• Enforce security best practices, including identity management, logging and vulnerability management.
• Work with development teams to improve deployment efficiency and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
• Optimize cloud resource usage for cost-effectiveness and scalability, and automate provisioning, configuration and maintenance.

Required profile

• Around 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering or Cloud Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Linux-based systems, networking and security best practices.
• Ability to work in an agile, fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, ArgoCD.
• Cloud services (AWS, Azure or GCP) and serverless computing.
• IaC tools: Terraform, CloudFormation or Pulumi.
• Docker, Kubernetes and Helm.
• Scripting in Bash, Python or Go.
• Monitoring and logging: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog.
