DC Route Driver – Hourly

About the role

Join O’Reilly Auto Parts as a DC Route Driver, responsible for operating company trucks to deliver merchandise safely and on time. You will follow established routes, adhere to DOT regulations, and ensure each stop is completed efficiently while maintaining a clean vehicle interior.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a commercial truck on pre‑designed routes, following stop order and road guidelines.
• Perform daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections in line with FMCSA regulations and company policy.
• Track Hours of Service using telematics or paper logs and maintain accurate records.
• Secure loads, doors, and alarms before and after each stop.
• Deliver merchandise to the correct locations as indicated on freight bills and store stickers.
• Verify and return manifested items to the distribution center.
• Assist as a trainer for new team members when designated.

Required profile

• Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and current DOT physical.
• Ability to work flexible hours and pass pre‑employment and random drug/alcohol tests.
• High school diploma or GED; prior electric pallet jack experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of DOT regulations, logbook requirements, and vehicle inspection procedures.
• Proficiency in operating electric pallet jacks.
• Advanced mechanical abilities for basic truck maintenance.
