About the role
GoCardless is looking for a Data Science Manager to lead its Payment Intelligence team. You will work closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to turn data‑driven ideas into production‑ready machine‑learning solutions that power real‑time payment decisions worldwide.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a high‑performing team of Data Scientists, fostering technical excellence and career growth.
- Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of mission‑critical ML models, from concept through production deployment.
- Shape the strategic roadmap for Payment Intelligence, translating complex data challenges into high‑impact goals.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to build end‑to‑end technical solutions.
- Communicate ML strategy and business value to senior leadership.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading data‑science teams in a fast‑moving environment.
- Strong ability to translate technical complexity into clear business outcomes.
- Passion for cutting‑edge AI and machine‑learning applications in payments.
