Data Engineer (French Speaker)

About the role

Natixis in Portugal is looking for a detail‑oriented Data Engineer who is fluent in French to join the BPCE‑SI (Solutions Informatiques) team. The role focuses on analysing complex data sets, building reliable ETL pipelines and supporting business intelligence initiatives for the Group’s corporate and investment banking activities.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret large data sets to generate actionable insights.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather data requirements and provide analytical support.
• Design, develop and maintain ETL processes using SQL, Stambia and Oracle Exadata (or comparable tools).
• Assist in creating data models and structures for reporting and analysis.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement projects for data processes and analytics methodologies.
• Handle functional incidents, contribute to technical developments and system enhancements.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in French and English.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Fluent French (C1) and good English (B2) communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• ETL development with Stambia or similar tools.
• Experience with Oracle Exadata (preferred).
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (preferred).
• Power BI for data visualisation and reporting.
