Cybersecurity Analyst L2 – Blue Team (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Cybersecurity Analyst L2 to join our Blue Team in Funchal. The role focuses on security monitoring, threat detection and incident response within a dynamic SOC environment. The analyst will work autonomously while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to continuously improve detection capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor compliance with SLAs defined for cybersecurity operations.
• Create, develop and optimise detection use cases within SIEM platforms.
• Govern the full lifecycle of use cases, from requirements gathering to continuous improvement.
• Analyse security events and alerts to identify potential threats and suspicious activities.
• Participate in threat‑hunting activities to proactively uncover emerging threats.
• Support vulnerability analysis and tracking, contributing to risk mitigation.
• Investigate security incidents and help define corrective and preventive actions.
• Produce technical documentation and activity reports.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the effectiveness of security processes.

Required profile

• More than 2 years of professional experience in Cybersecurity Operations / SOC Level 2 within a Blue Team environment.
• High level of autonomy and decision‑making capability.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and critical thinking.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Proactive attitude, strong sense of ownership and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Ability to manage priorities and perform effectively in a dynamic environment.

Required skills

• Experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel) – rule creation, event correlation and use‑case development.
• Log analysis and incident investigation.
• Security monitoring and threat hunting.
• Vulnerability management and remediation tracking.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
