Cyber Defense Engineer – Global SOC

About the role

Randstad is looking for a Cyber Defense Engineer to join its Global Security Operations Center. The role focuses on high‑level threat response, detection engineering and proactive vulnerability management within a follow‑the‑sun model.

Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced incident resolution, owning investigations from discovery through remediation.
• Design, develop and refine threat detection capabilities and playbooks in collaboration with the Continuous Improvement Lead.
• Contribute to threat modeling and vulnerability management to identify security gaps before exploitation.
• Act as a bridge between outsourced frontline defense teams and local IT delivery colleagues to ensure a seamless global security posture.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with industry‑leading SIEM, EDR and SOAR tools.
• Deep understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework, attack vectors and network protocols.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks and make decisions under pressure.
• Excellent English communication skills to translate technical findings for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Bonus: scripting knowledge (Python) or certifications such as CISSP.
