About the role

The 1919 Restaurant at the historic Condado Vanderbilt Hotel is seeking a Cook I to join its culinary team. You will work in a high‑end, luxury dining environment, preparing dishes that reflect the restaurant’s distinguished heritage while delivering consistent quality and service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead kitchen staff to prepare dishes on time and to a high standard of quality.
• Set up stations properly for each service period and ensure all food follows approved recipes.
• Maintain food quality, quantity, and correct portioning, and deliver dishes to the appropriate service area promptly.
• Clean and sanitize preparation areas, equipment, and work surfaces in accordance with safe food‑handling practices.
• Monitor freshness of ingredients, rotate stock, and store food at correct temperatures.
• Estimate food consumption, order supplies, and retrieve items from storage as needed.
• Follow all safety and security policies, report incidents, and complete required safety training.

Required profile

• Hospitality‑oriented professional with at least 4 years of culinary or food‑and‑beverage experience.
• Previous experience as a cook in a comparable hotel or fine‑dining environment.
• Ability to work all kitchen stations, handle physically demanding tasks, and lift up to 60 lb.
• Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong teamwork attitude and professional appearance.
